About Derrek | Derrek Hofrichter brings extensive media relations experience from the White House and federal executive branch appointments, major non-profit charities, and a communications consulting firm to every project he works on. Prior to co-founding Maverick Strategies + Communications, Derrek managed communications, including strategy, outreach, and new media efforts, for Scottsdale, Arizona-based Childhelp, one of America’s largest and most successful advocates for the prevention and treatment of child abuse. His time at Childhelp followed five years of intense work in Washington, DC, beginning with three years as a political appointee for the White House and finishing at a major public affairs firm. He also brings national campaign experience, having served in various capacities for Congressional, Senatorial, Gubernatorial and three Presidential campaigns.
About Bret | Bret Jacobson is a leading communications specialist with extensive experience in devising and executing high-impact, research-based, national advocacy campaigns. His work has been covered by radio, television, and new media, as well as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, and major regional and local news outlets. In January 2008, Bret launched Maverick Strategies LLC to assist businesses and their advocates in improving the effectiveness of their communications capabilities.
